ooh, come down and make it easier on me

Last night I went to a rock show at Fez, sick but feeling good because I like to see Jedediah Parish and I like to see the Candy Butchers. I got a seat, got a drink, got ready for the rock.

During the opener, I looked over by the stage door and I saw him. Todd Foulsham, original Candy Butcher. He left a little while back and every time we see the band -- which is pretty often. That was maybe our 50th show last night -- I miss him. He doesn't live in the area, so I figured when I saw him, he was going to play.

I figured right.

Oh, it was glorious. New songs, old songs, all with the one thing they'd been missing -- superfantastic Todd. The best part? Maybe when the show started and Mike Viola said "Todd's back." Maybe when Mike talked about working on the new record -- with Todd.

Then we went backstage and were happy talking and went back to Brooklyn and had 80 drinks too many. It was a very good night.
